Trust the Message

Recently, I met a young man at a wedding who introduce himself as "Stan," and then gave his full name as Stanley. It's a name that is very unusual for a person in their 30s, so I couldn’t help joyfully exclaiming it was my dad's name. I knew "my" Stan was near!

And, years ago, my hubby, Denny, came walking into the kitchen singing "Jambalaya" which was an old favorite that my dad loved to sing. When I asked about the song, Den had no idea, saying it just came to him. Another message from my dad.

I love these "angel taps," but many people push them off as coincidences. From John Holland, psychic medium & spiritual teacher:

"What if the moments that feel like coincidence - a sudden memory, a vivid dream, a familiar presence you can’t explain - are invitations to reconnect with those you love on the Other-Side?"

He went on to mention on his blog, "Have you ever felt that gentle nudge - a thought, a feeling, or even a knowing - that quietly whispers, ‘Pay attention?"*

Whatever your beliefs, it's heart-warming to believe that we are still able to connect with loved ones who have passed.

Try This: Trust the Message

These subtle spiritual messages are often surprising occurrences that catch us off guard. So, here are some ideas to recognize angel messages this week:

  • Jot down in a journal when:
    • A song plays that you identify with a special person.
    • A dream where the person who passed appears in it.
    • A number keeps showing up that you associate with the person.
  • Meditate to heighten your intuition:
    • Sit quietly and take 3-5 deep breaths to relax your mind.
    • Ask for guidance in the form of a sign for a next step toward a goal or dream.
    • Notice any images or thoughts that pop into your mind and write them in the journal.

After writing this, an ad popped up on the TV with a huge logo of "STAN" for a new streaming service. And  of course, I smiled and called out, "Thanks, Dad!"
