Ever get in one of those spurts of tidying and find something that stops you in your tracks? The other day, my hubby was cleaning out a cabinet and found a box with "Love" printed all over it. He stopped and handed it to me, stuffed with nostalgia. These were notes that I had put in our daughter Amanda's lunch box for years when she was in middle school.
Imagine stepping back in time for something you did to inspire yourself or motivate another person. For me, I was thrilled to rediscover these old notes, remembering a different time when the strategy was to uplift and motivate my daughter.
Try This: Start a Love Box
A great start is to preserve a few of your favorite notes, cards, photos, and other memorabilia that represent special times with loved ones. For this week, try this:
- Find a box to hold your mementos, notes, or special objects that show love.
- Make a note about the reason for the box and tape it to the inside of the lid.
- Find one or two things as starters for your collection into it each day for a week.
- Keep adding to the box those special items that you love until you believe it is full.
The items I collected became fun memories that remind me how everyone needs a little love to help them through the day.
