Pause to Review, Reflect, Refocus

With holiday fun and finishing projects, I have felt scattered. It has been hard to find the time to come up with a plan for the New Year. Luckily, on my morning walk yesterday, I happened upon a video from Jim Rohn who was a successful entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker that helped give me hope.

The video was titled, "Review. Reflect. Refocus. - Jim Rohn’s Timeless Formula for Growth & Success," and recommends using the "pause." He said, "Most people never pause, they just keep running…Remember: Success belongs to those who constantly review the past, reflect on its lessons, and refocus their energy on the future." *

His words hit me as a reminder that it's okay to pause, to enable you to reset your energy. And it gave me an idea for this week.

Try This: Pause to Review, Reflect, Refocus.

When rushing through the day, it's hard to make strides forward. Being busy is not the same as achieving what's most important. Here is an idea, so grab a notepad:

  • Review your priorities. Are your goals still meaningful?
  • Reflect on what truly matters. Do your goals or dreams still excite you?
  • Refocus your daily actions to match. Can you give yourself permission to adjust them?

Using a pause gives you the chance to stop and reconnect with your dreams and projects. Even if you don't have specific things you're working toward right now, the pause can help you make sure to uncover new goals, dreams or projects that keep getting shoved to the side due to being too busy!
