Commit to Connect and Reconnect

As people are getting back to their normal schedules, the holidays still offer memories of fun get togethers, events and more. Sometimes that can leave us feeling a bit down because of missing the activity with family and friends. Especially those of you who are working remotely. Not being in the same room with others can sometimes be lonely.

Here is a good quote from Reid Tracy, CEO of Hay House, "…how much more depth, energy, and creativity is possible when we're face to face…I left that party reminded of something simple but powerful: Presence builds connection. And connection builds trust."*

It is the idea that we are social animals that need connection.

Try This: Commit to Connect and Reconnect

When you haven't heard from a friend or family member in a while, switch from thinking they are not including you in other activities or don't care about doing something with you. Instead, be the one to foster connections. Here are two questions that Tracy offered in his newsletter message that can help you this week:

Who haven't I connected with lately, just because it's not part of my regular routine?

What would happen if I reached out - not to ask for anything, but just to say hi and hear how they're doing?

Make a call, send a text, write an email to someone that you haven't heard from lately. As Tracy said, "Sometimes the best conversations are the ones we didn’t schedule."
