Remember to Believe in Yourself

This weekend heralds the start of Fall and ramping up for the holiday season. It also means that the year is coming to the last push for achieving goals or finishing projects. I started worrying about all the things that need to get done and if I have the time.

Then, I saw this on the Calm.com blog,* “Believing in yourself can make you more likely to take calculated risks and try new things, stay motivated and focused on your goals, handle stress and adversity, and feel happier and more content with your life.”

As good advice, it got me wondering about easy ways to jumpstart the positives to believe in myself.

Try This: Remember to Believe in Yourself

Here are three ideas suggested in the blog to try this week when something causes you self-doubt or disappointment:

  • Celebrate your wins, no matter how small. Each day, write down three things you’ve accomplished. This can help you focus on your successes and create a positive mindset.
  • Surround yourself with positive people. Join a club or group that focuses on personal development or a hobby you enjoy. Surround yourself with like-minded, positive people who lift you up.

Change your self-talk. Create a list of positive affirmations and read them aloud every morning. For example, "I am capable of achieving my goals," or "I believe in my abilities." *
