Remember to Laugh a Little!

With starting a new month, I found myself feeling better about my projects and goals. Yet, it has been hard to maintain consistency due to travels, speaking gigs, and volunteer commitments, so stress and anxiety started to creep in!

Then, I ran into this quote from the famous author, Mark Twain, "The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter."

Booya! Laughter is a great solution to keep motivation fueled.

Try this: Remember to Laugh a Little!

Isn't it crazy how we often forget that a laugh, a giggle, a snort, can uplift our spirit even when stressed? As Twain said, it's a "really effective weapon." Here are some tips and info from Mayo Clinic**:

  • Practice laughing - Consider trying laughter yoga where people practice in a group. Or force a laugh in front of a mirror until you really do chuckle.
  • Share a laugh by telling a joke - Head to the library or bookstore for a good book on jokes you like and appropriate for your friend audience.
  • Watch a funny video or movie - Check YouTube for videos of comedians or silly pet reels that tickle you. One of my favorite comedians is Nate Bargatze who is a clean comic and lots of good material to make you laugh (https://youtu.be/PuJFMl59pJY?si=DHap5OUTR4FGzMlE).

Hope the ideas get you smiling because a little laughter can turn your energy up and your creativity on.
