Tell a Victory

Recently I heard a recorded Wayne Dyer seminar about a technique to celebrate who you really are. It's about telling a story of victory, whether it was something you did recently, maybe tackling a big project or completing a goal. Yet, when it is something that others may not see or know about, it can be swept away with all the other tasks or issues of the day.

The key is to embrace a mind shift to stop negativity or disillusionment and embrace your accomplishments. It reminded me to use a story to celebrate who you really are. Break down your tasks into smaller segments and focus on those little wins that build towards the bigger end goal.

Try This: Tell a Victory

What better way to boost your motivation than looking at your collection of trophies. Here are a couple ways to craft victory stories to remind yourself of what you've accomplished:

  • Write a list of achievements over the last 5-10 years and how it supports your goals and dreams today.
  • Next, refine your list to focus on those successes over the last few months that have been helping you gain traction on your current goals.
  • Now craft several achievement stories using your short list to share with others about one of your victory *

A victory story for me is having published my first mystery novel last month! It took a lot of time, talent and treasure to accomplish. So, celebrating the victory with you reminds me that it was worth it and I can do it again with another story!
