With the holidays, the frenzy of added activities can be stressful as noted in previous blog posts. That's why it's great when an unexpected call from a family member or friend adds a fun moment of distraction.
The other day, my good friend Deb B. called to relate a fun story of a person coming to her garage sale. The woman mentioned something about her mother having passed away and said her name was Beverly Ann which was also Deb's mother’s name who had passed a few years ago.
"Nicki, she said it was a Godwink and I immediately had to call you!" We laughed how it was a definite tap by both of their angel mothers that they were close and to give the two women smiles. Deb's call brought a big smile to my face as well.
Try This: The Power of a Simple Gesture
The call from Deb helped me realize how important a simple call or gesture can be to uplift you. So, during the week ahead, consider the benefit of these simple touches:
- Give a hug or a pat on the back.
- Make a call, send a text, or write an email.
- Hold a door open or help carry something for someone else.
For the ease of a simple gesture, you can get a smile for you and your recipient!
