So often my hubby will walk in with a joke or silly video to show me on his phone. While I often roll my eyes, it usually makes me laugh!
Laughter is an elixir that has many uses, especially when it softens what feels heavy. As a great stress reducer, a good bell laugh can shift your energy, open your heart, and bring you back into the present moment. Keeping your sense of humor doesn’t mean you’re avoiding reality; it means you’re meeting it with resilience and grace.
Try This: Tell a Joke!
When you allow yourself to laugh, you create space for intuition, clarity, and emotional balance to return. So here is something to do this week:
Choose a type of joke format that you find the funniest:
- Puns that rely on wordplay and double meanings. "I named my dog ‘five miles,’ so that I can say 'I walked five miles today.'"
- Observational jokes that comment on life's quirks. "Why did Michael Jordan have a coach? He's the best basketball player of all time. What did the coach do? Just yell, 'Yeah! Keep doing that Mike'"
- Sarcastic jokes that say one thing but mean the opposite. "Just remember, I'm a unique individual. Like everyone else!"
- Knock-knock jokes that involve interaction with the audience. "Knock, knock." Who’s there? "Nobel" Nobel who? "No bell, that's why I'm knocking!"
