Ever had a nudge like a person, idea, or place comes to mind seemingly out of the blue and it stops you in your tracks? The nudge demands your attention for the moment, making you pause to reflect.
Naturally, we question if the nudge is our intuition trying to tell us something. From gut feelings in the pit of your stomach to inner peace for a decision, to the appearance of a nagging thought, we often dismiss or question those signs.
Try This: Use the Power of Intuition
To become more aware of your own intuitive nudges, practice will help you uncover the guidance you need. Here is a fun exercise based on one from author and intuitive Lynn Robinson*:
- Take a deep breath, center yourself, and say the following: "I believe that everything happens for a reason."
- Jot answers that come to you in the blanks: "The reason I'm experiencing _______ is to learn _________."
- Pause to allow ideas and answers to come to you. It might manifest as a thought, a feeling, a physical sensation, or even a symbolic image.
- Trust whatever arises - it’s your intuition speaking to you.
According to Robinson, "This exercise helps you shift from resistance to curiosity, transforming obstacles into opportunities for growth. Practice it regularly, and you’ll deepen your connection to your inner wisdom. Be open, be patient, and let your intuition guide you."
PS. Do you have an intuition story that helps you believe in listening to yours? It’s always fun to hear how a gut feeling changed someone's life, even in a small way! Send me an email at simply.stated@lemmontree.com.
