Try a Guilty Pleasure!

As a kid, do you remember having fun at recess during school? The key was how breaks after classes of intense learning made it easier to pay attention. While being diligent in working, learning, and participating in projects, motivation can be hard to maintain without balance.

Here was a quote that reinforced the idea: "Do things you enjoy, and they will lead you back to your true heart's desire." Uma Alexandra Beepat.* In hectic daily life, sometimes we can use small treats or quick breaks that make us happy.

Try This: Try a Guilty Pleasure!

The fun of indulging in something we enjoy, even if it seems trivial or selfish, helps benefit our mental and emotional wellbeing. So here are some ideas for this week:

  • Read an inspiring book
  • Enjoy a favorite dessert
  • Watch a favorite TV show or movie
  • Play a favorite set of songs

Do you have a favorite guilty pleasure? Mine is to treat myself to a dark chocolate caramel that I get from Costco. Hmmm...reminds me it’s time for a yummy break!
