Celebrating important days, like Mother's Day, is a great way to give and get love flowing. From honoring your own mother or grandmother, maybe you're a mother, or have friends who are moms, it's a great time to send positive vibes in cards, give hugs, embrace love from family and more.
This year, my family is visiting my 93-year-old aunt in Illinois to celebrate her wonderful life. It's my mom's sister, so we'll have a double dip of love to her and to my Mom in heaven. It is also my dad's birthday, and he would have been 99. So, he can join the party as I can do a toast to his life, too.

As noted by Mother Teresa, find ways to spread love. As you do things for others, the best part is that you get more love flowing back as well. Here are ideas for this week:
- Give a handmade card with a heartfelt message.
- Frame a favorite photo of you with your mom or special one.
- Plan a dinner out at your mom’s favorite restaurant or cook a fun meal for her, a loved one or a friend.
- Set a movie date at home with a Hallmark movie.
- Create a video of favorite times spent with her.
You probably can think of other ways to make the day special. Most importantly, it’s a great time to witness how spreading love enlightens your life.
