Have you experienced a lack of energy at times from all the tumult of the pandemic and the bumpy times we've had?
There are two big culprits that impact our energy levels. One is not taking good care of our bodies. The other is not paying attention to the care and feeding of our minds and emotions.
Feeling energetic and alive gives us the motivation to move forward. The malaise of low energy results in sluggishness.
"Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer the negative elements in your life, don’t sit at home and think about it. Go out and get busy!" -Dale Carnegie*
Sometimes, it is hard to pinpoint whether it’s a body or a mind thing. Below is a short list of questions to help you discover more about your own energy level.
Try This: Quick Energy Assessment
Here are a few questions to help you make changes to your daily habits to enhance your energy. Ask these questions three times this week (like Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday):
- How am I eating?
- Am I getting enough sleep?
- Do I exercise regularly?
Take three deep long breaths, then ask:
- Do I have something fun planned on the calendar?
- When can I sit and read a cool mystery, romance, or other book?
- Am I meditating, journaling, or praying often?
Simply asking these questions helps to gain more awareness about both body and mind health in a minute of reflection. You will begin to notice changes or shifts in your habits that enhance your energy levels.
