As I was making a list of wonderful things to focus on, the song, "My Favorite Things," from the movie, Sound of Music, popped in my mind. If you haven't heard the song or need a refresher, click here: https://youtu.be/0IagRZBvLtw
Listening to the fun lyrics, I was inspired to jot down a list of my favorite things. These are touchstones for me:
- Walking and listening to inspirational messages.
- Feeling good to be out in the sunshine.
- Writing to entertain, inspire and motivate others.
- Working with a book coach to get my mystery novel published.
- Hugging my family and friends.
When typing them, I could not help but smile. That is the beauty of remembering my favorite things - bringing the good emotions and feelings to the forefront of my mind. It's an easy way to toss off the blues or doubt or anxiety.
